An amazing 15 Cheddar Runners turned out for the Bristol 10K on Sunday 11th May, despite the forecast high winds and rain. The run was blustery in places, particularly on the Portway, but it was thankfully not as bad as predicted. We were slightly worried having seen the tree branches strewn across the road on the walk to the start line!

Greg Brock was first CRC member home, in a PB of 36.55- outstanding as this was only a couple of weeks after his excellent achievement in the Yorkshire 3 peaks race (read about that here:  http://cheddarrunningclub.co.uk/yorkshire-three-peaks-fell-race-2014/race-report/ ). Next home was Shane Roach (38.42), followed by Richard Jackson (41.27- PB), who just pipped first CRC lady Jenny McNamara (41.28-PB) to the post  following a death or glory sprint finish. Then came Lee Wooland (43.59-PB), Jason Woodcock, (45.25-PB), whose lung-bursting sprint finish saw him beat wife-to-be and second CRC lady Emma Zarrabi (45.26-PB) by one second. Jill Wring (46.45) was next, then Mikki Coates (47.39), Christine Belcher (56.56- PB), Laura Wivell (57.33- PB, first 10K!), Sue Wivell (64.14), Ronnie Roberts (69.41) and Gill Constable (96.12…a courageous PW – Gill was running with a slower friend who was running her first 10K).

Well done everyone! And thanks to Shane for the excellent training which is helping us all achieve our PBs and personal goals 🙂
