Gill constable writes..

Greg Pennington and I were the only Cheddar vests at this beautiful race setting. A well organised race hosted by Yeovil RC. A 10k and junior races starting from North Perritt cricket ground with its excellent clubhouse with hot showers and serving after race Burgers etc.
The run was over a two lap course taking in North Perritt School, farm tracks, Trails and cattle grids and cow fields complete with their ‘leftovers’. Narrow gaps to enter fields, narrow wooden bridges and a few stiles to negotiate where queuing was a bit of an issue for the mid section of runners. I was impressed by the well mannered cows stood in an orderly line watching us reach the top of the main hill at 4 and 9 K. Not one for a PB but an enjoyable run with fine views and lots of variety. Although it’s an hour or more to get there it was well worth the effort, especially as Greg kindly drove me. It’s part of the Somerset Series too. There were a few of us taking on the Series a few years ago and as our Big Cheese is part of it perhaps we ought to make an effort to support more of the events. Battle of Sedgemoor is the next one, which is of course one of our championship list.
