Ironwood challenge 10km – Pretty

Pretty muddy, pretty hilly and pretty wet!

Nailsea running club’s 10km off road race starts in the hills behind the long ashton community centre but immediately feels like you are out in the sticks.  Within the first half mile you have already found yourself winding up a long muddy hill and then on to a extra steep bit with a helpful rope to pull you up.

Most of the route winds through a wooded area but there are a few open fields and a short piece of road you can really open the throttle on.  The twisty and wooded descents were pretty sketchy in places, just scary enough to make you start laughing at how daft it all is.

Overall a good race, excellent marshalling, good cakes and a bargain price.

Andy finished in 4th place and 1st in the MV40 category.
