Langley-Hobbs races to victory in first duathlon

Cheddar running club’s Sorrel Langley-Hobbs took on the Bath Duathlon today (Saturday 10th March).

She writes:

“I was taking my son to do this as a tristar 1 so I thought I would have a go myself. I have never done a duathlon before but I really enjoyed it. It started with a lap around the tarmac cycle course, then a lap around the outside of the cycle course on the grass. Then after picking up my bike (no drop handle bars for me just a hybrid bike) I had to do ten laps around the Bath Odd down cycle track – its 1.5k in length fairly flat but quite windy in parts, it was challenging counting and remembering what lap I was on. Then a final 1.5k which was a bit of a challenge to get my legs working again after the cycling but I managed to overtake two people on this part (got overtaken and lapped by a lot of cyclists). I had fun and I came 1st in my category, actually to clarify I was the only person in my category so perhaps I came last as well, but I did it!”

You can only race the people there on the day Sorrel- a win is a win! Well done 🙂
