  • We can help you progress with your running- We have a proven programme of training working on speed, strength and endurance. Get ready to smash those personal bests, to run for longer or faster than you thought you could, or just for the motivation to keep on running!
  • We cater for a wide range of abilities– No-one is left behind! We have members at the front of the pack, those at the back, and everything in between!   • We’re a sociable and friendly bunch– Everyone is made to feel welcome. We have various social events throughout the year (Christmas party, pub and chips run, cake run, curry run, Easter egg race…), most of which revolve around food! But you’ll have earned it through the track sessions, road runs or off-road runs with us!

About the club

Cheddar Running Club is based in the Somerset village of Cheddar. The club was founded in 1988 as Cheddar Valley Joggers, whose aim was to bring enthusiastic runners together.

The club meets at 6:50pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Kings Fitness and Leisure Centre in Cheddar: Station Road, Cheddar, BS27 3AH.

Although small, approximately 60 members, we are a very friendly and thriving club who focuses both on enjoyment as well as making personal improvements.

We have a great range of abilities within the club from those who race competitively to those who run to maintain a good level of fitness. We also ensure that no-one gets left behind during our training sessions. There is also a good social scene, with great interaction on training nights as well as post run activities during the year.

We always welcome new members and believe we offer something to everyone, whatever their ability. Whatever your reason for joining, you can rest assured you will receive a warm welcome.
