Three Cheddar runners took part in Weston athletic club’s Beacon Batch fell race on Tuesday evening (17th June). This challenging 5 mile course has a whopping 1000 feet of ascent to the summit of the Mendips. It was a perfect evening weather-wise for doing most things other than running up seriously big hills, but team Cheddar was on fine form, with Richard Jackson coming 25th overall and 8th in his category. Gentleman Jim Scott put in an excellent run to come 13th in his category in a time of 47.40, despite stopping to help Suzanne Davis, who took a tumble on the difficult terrain and badly bruised her knees. Being made of strong stuff, this didn’t stop her coming 7th in her category in a time of 48.58.

Well done everyone!
