This will mark a memorable date in the race calendar, it was my lovely wife Michelle’s first ever race and a whole year since my first race (the Glastonbury 10k 2018).
This is a fantastic event that I have been prepping for and really looking forward to since taking part last year.

Race start – I took off a little too enthusiastically, I guess it’s so easy to get swept along with other runners and a super crowd! I did need to reset at the first kilometre but fortunately we were heading down Wells road, therefore recovering was a little easier and getting the pace back on track – I also perfected the art of taking on water at both stations without breathing it in this time around! Before I knew it I was at the foot of the segment known as heartbreak hill, hard work when your legs are tired but there was no giving up. Heading down the finishing stretch, I spotted the timer so ended up doing one of those mad dash sprints for the line and managed to beat my pb and just squeezed under the 45min mark, really pleased with the result…. these running club track sessions are really paying off!
