Name: |
Isabelle Dormer |
Age or Running Category: |
63years |
How long have you been running? |
20 years plus |
Why do you run? |
The enjoyment and to meet friends to try and maintain an element of fitness. |
Describe your favourite run: |
From my house up to Draycott Sleights and further. No matter what the weather or time of year it is always a fantastic view and an immense pleasure to look at and feel our wonderful countryside. |
Do you take part in races? If so what distance/terrain? |
Only compete in the Weston Xmas Cracker. 10 k is about my limit. I prefer off road, even with the climb. |
What is your greatest running achievement? |
Just to keep going I suppose but it was a great sense of achievement competing in several Cub Grizzly events a few years ago now. |
How long have you been a member of Cheddar Running Club? |
17 years
|
Why did you join Cheddar Running Club? |
To help me return to running and fitness, and then I realised how much more “fun” and motivating it was. Despite not being the fastest or fittest the sense of achievement after each session is always great. |
How has Cheddar Running Club helped you and your running? |
Just keeps me going and I enjoy the friends and social outlet I get from continuing my membership. Long may it last. |
What would you say to anyone thinking of joining the club? |
Don’t think twice, if you don’t try it you may be missing out on a lot more than just running faster. |
