On Thursday 9th June, Cheddar Running Club held a social evening at the Bath Arms in Cheddar to present three local charities with cheques for £535 each. Earlier in the year the club staged ‘The Big Cheese’ race; a fifteen-mile challenging off-road race where we had 205 finishers. As in previous years it was agreed to donate a portion of the proceeds to charity. The race is run through parts of Somerset Wildlife Trust’s nature reserves, and the race is supported by Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, who kindly assist with marshalling therefore, both charities were recipients of a donation. Club members also voted to donate to the The Strawberry Line Society who informed us that they would be filling in some of the potholes on the pathway which was great news for us runners who use the pathway regularly!
