Name: | Natasha Kennedy |
Age or Running Category: | 33 |
How long have you been running? | On and off for about 10 years – mostly off!
I hated running when I was younger and I used to skive cross country runs or track sessions at school. |
Why do you run? | I love the outdoors and running is good for my mood and general fitness. |
Describe your favourite run: | Anything outside with hills and nice countryside! |
Do you take part in races? If so what distance/terrain? | Racing is not really my thing, although I do like to have one or two challenges lined up to give me the incentive to get out and run. |
What is your greatest running achievement? | Completing the Exmoor Stagger in October 2016. I wasn’t sure I’d be capable of getting round the very hilly 16 mile course but I surprised myself (and wasn’t last)! |
How long have you been a member of Cheddar Running Club? | Since July 2016 |
Why did you join Cheddar Running Club? | I wanted to push myself and meet some new people. Before I joined the club I only ever ran at one speed and had never run more than a few miles. I still don’t run fast, but it is fun to exercise as a group and I’ve met a lovely bunch of people! |
How has Cheddar Running Club helped you and your running? | When I come regularly I really notice the difference in my fitness and endurance. |
What would you say to anyone thinking of joining the club? | Just come along! I put it off for a while thinking I wouldn’t be fit enough or fast enough to do a club track session but everyone was really encouraging and it really doesn’t matter how good a runner you are. |
