193 intrepid runners took part in the 2nd staging of Cheddar Running Club’s challenging 15 mile trail race, “The Big Cheese” on Sunday 8th March. Running conditions were perfect- cool with a slight drizzle that, thankfully for the marshals, didn’t amount to anything heavier.

The well-marked course starts as it means to go on- at the bottom of a steep hill-and takes in
over 2000 feet of climbing over the Mendip hills. Enthusiastic marshals cheered on weary
runners all the way to an impressively-stocked cake table at race HQ.

Thanks to all who made the race a great success, especially Race Director Andy Rich, who put in an enormous amount of work behind the scenes to make it a fantastic day for the runners.
