One year ago, Tom Pope joined Cheddar Running Club and ran the 2015 Wells 10k in one hour. After a year of training with the club he was back to see how much he had improved. The Wells 10k fun run was held on Sunday 29th May and runners were greeted with warm sunny weather but there was nice breeze to cool the runners down. The race starts in Wells’ Market Place and heads out to the A371 via a farmyard. At Dulcote, runners turned back towards Wells but faced a hill prior to being rewarded with a lovely view of the cathedral. It is a two lap race so we were rewarded with the view twice. First home for Cheddar was Tom Pope who finished in a time of 46:52 (thirteen minute improvement on 2015!), followed by Sarah Landen (49:33), Jason Woodcock (53:19), Sara Stobart (54:24 – 3rd in category), Andrea Cox (55:10), Gill Constable (57:54 – 1st in category), Nigel Redman (58:35) and Dave Mullay (1:11:03).
We also had excellent support from Phil and Emma 🙂
